Dr. Amin Jaffer 
DDS

Dr. Jaffer completed his undergraduate education at Florida International University in Miami, Florida. During these years, he earned the honor of being on the National Dean’s list two years in a row. In 1997, he completed his dental education at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry and has been in private practice since then. Dentistry is his passion and he enjoys talking with his patients. One of his strengths is that he takes his time explaining and educating his patients so they can maintain and improve their dental health and smile.

Dr. Jaffer lives in Ann Arbor with his wife Muneeza and two children Hina and Omar. He enjoys traveling and dining out.

Dr. Jaffer believes every patient deserves comprehensive dental treatment thus, he maintains a comprehensive and proactive approach. Our office can give you a comprehensive treatment plan that takes care of all your needs. Dr. Jaffer is a knowledgeable, up-to-date and caring dentist who takes his time to listen to you and answer all of your questions. We believe all smiles start with healthy teeth and gums. Timothy Schafer 
DDS

Dentistry is a unique field and profession that requires proficiency in multiple different areas including the biomedical sciences, material science, artistry, and manual dexterity. The field of dentistry was an enticing career because of my interest in healthcare along with the previously mentioned aspects of this field. Dr. Sha love art and helping people and dentistry allows me to combine these two interests. I am able to create smiles while also helping people to achieve and maintain their oral health needs. In addition, dentistry is a lifelong career where I am able to develop rapport with my patients. Being able to form lifelong relationships with my patients is a great feeling and being able to care for their oral health adds immense joy to this profession.

Continuing education encompasses all aspects of the field of dentistry. Whether it is learning new technical skills or procedures or advancing methodologies and diagnostic procedures. Not only is continuing education a responsibility of this field, but it is an area of great enjoyment since I am able to develop my expertise and knowledge in this growing and exciting field. I love learning and I truly believe that we should strive to excel in all aspects of life. For me, I strive to give my patients the best care possible and this grows with continuing education.

Away from the Practice

I am a proud Michigan native being born and raised in the Plymouth area. Having completed all my educational training locally, I am excited to be able to practice in close proximity to my hometown. I love art with a particular interest in carpentry/woodworking and music, specifically the electric guitar. I love crafting new pieces from decorative chests to furniture. I also started two bands while in dental school and love going to concerts whether it is a small-scale venue or larger arena.

Dr. Yasmina Farah 
DDS

Dr. Yasmina Farah received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan and her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. She is dedicated to creating a warm, welcoming, and comfortable environment for all of her patients. By providing gentle, compassionate, and patient-centered care, she ensures that every individual feels heard, valued, and supported throughout their oral health journey. As part of her commitment to delivering the highest quality of care, she places a strong emphasis on patient education. Whether it’s by discussing lifestyle habits that impact oral health or providing insight on proper oral hygiene techniques, Dr. Farah strives to empower each individual with the essential tools to improve or maintain their oral health beyond the confines of the dental office.

Leah Dailey 
RDH

Leah is our Hygienist. She graduated from Oakland Community College in 2007 and has been with our practice since 2008.

Rahaf Khan 
RDH

Rahaf graduated from the University of Michigan with honors and a Bachelor’s in Dental Hygiene in 2022. She started with our practice in the summer of 2022. As a part of the hygiene  team, Rahaf brings a bright and fresh perspective to providing  the utmost dental care to all her patients.

Sumaia Al-Suraimi 
RDH

Sumaia Al-Suraimi is one of our outstanding Hygienists.  She graduated from the University of Michigan in 2023 with a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene. We welcomed her to the Arbor Dental team in May of 2023.  Her compassionate care and attention to detail has been a great addition to our practice.

Paula Cafego 
Dental Assisting

Paula has 32 years of dental assisting experience. She has been with our practice since 2018. Paula has assisted Dr. Jaffer through a series of procedures in including Restorative, Endodontic, Orthodontic, and Surgeries. Paula and Dr. Jaffer have established a work dynamic that is both efficient and thorough. 

Tonyaa Henderson
Dental Assistant

Tonyaa Henderson has 13 years of Dental Assisting experience and has been with Arbor Dental since 2021.  Her knowledge and cordial personality are a cherished asset to our practice.  She has a strength for communicating and advocating for patients.  We are very grateful to have her as a part of our team.

Kristen Snapir
Front Desk Coordinator

Kristen started with the practice in January 2023 as our Front Desk Coordinator. She has become a great addition to the Arbor Dental family as she continues to take on additional responsibilities of becoming our fantastic financial coordinator. She can now be seen at the front desk or with our patients presenting their financials.

Olivia Terada
Patient Coordinator

Olivia Terada is one of our fantastic Patient Coordinators.  She joined Arbor Dental in October 2023.  She has an aptitude for bringing our postcards to life with her designs as well as working one on one with our patients.  We are thrilled she is part of our team.

Kristy Candir
Patient Coordinator

Kristy Candir started in Arbor Dental in August 2023 and is a diligent Patient Coordinator.  Her empathy and gentleness make her the perfect addition to the Arbor Dental team.  She works diligently to assist our patients with any questions they may have as well as effectively scheduling them for their appointments.
